Makeup and hairstylist Gloria Caro has been transforming faces since 1980. A native of Colombia, she has studied at some of Latin America's most prestigious beauty academies including La Escuela de Belleza in Mariela, Colombia, where she studied hair cut, color and makeup techniques and application and La Universidad de Cine y Television in Havana, Cuba where she participated in the makeup and special effects program. Ms Caro also studied makeup application and technology at the Carmen Cazcarra School in Barcelona, Spain.
Ms. Caro eventually opened her own beauty salons in Colombia, but closed them in 1990 to focus on the commercial aspects of the beauty industry. She began working for television stations, as a stylist on several television series, music videos and movies. She worked as a hair and makeup artist on Victor Gaviria's film "La Vendedora de Rosas" which was honored as 1998's Best Foreign Film at the Cannes FIlm Festival.
